From Coffee Shops to -
I must say that I'm becoming rather fond of the culture of coffee shops. Whoever got this started actually knew what they were doing. I am finding that these are some of the best places to get away and to really think about what exactly is going on here.
Change is in the air in a very big way here. Among the dwellers, mostly. We are finally getting to that point where we are comfortable enough with our surroundings to branch out a bit and to be comfortable with the niches we have carved out.
Will has become a good friend to many of the high school age kids in the area - a very positive thing for the neighborhood for sure. Curtis seems to be most involved in the kids that he deals with daily at work - he often gets home late enough that he has no more than a half hour to spend with our neighborhood itself. Alex often gets the unsavory job of keeping the trouble makers in check, and Kenna does an excellent job of letting the kids know that they have crossed the line.
Kennna, Alex, and I are around for the greatest amount of time out of the five of us which gives us greater opportunity to connect with our surroundings. I have to say that I have rather fallen in love with the kids here and it will be exceedingly difficult to leave at the end of the year.
I find myself most drawn to the younger kids that come by, from Angel who is 5 to Yessenia and Larena, both 12. They are cousins, Yessenia and Larena, and don't come terribly often. They have been asking us recently when we will be having them over for a girl's night. Hopefully it will work out in the next week or two.
It occurs to me that mum has been asking for a while that I post about what I do from day to day - I guess I've been a bit remiss. I won't do that now, but in the near future for sure. Things stay pretty busy, and for now, I am being pointedly unproductive - for my sanity's sake.
